ooc. this is open to anyone and everyone who wants to post! I figured the best way to start up again was to just take the plunge and post, and it made me feel a lot better. A quick warning, though, I'm currently in the process of moving to a new house so it might take me some time to reply, I don't know how long, but probably no more than a day if that long. haha. C:kitewhistle. Then name CloudClan seemed to have never been quite as appropriate as it was now, with a thick blanket of stormy gray clouds covering the sky. The taste of rain hung heavily in the air; Kitewhistle could practically hear the thunder off in the distance. But he didn't care. Maybe, if he got lucky, maybe it would rain and the rain would wash away any trace of him, any trace of anything that had happened in the past few moons. But he knew it wouldn't. Nothing could.
Everything seemed strange and foreign lately, and yet it had become routine, like a song that played one too many times in your head. The moisture in the air had turned the soil to mud even before the rain, and Kitewhistle's black paws were heavy with it. He moved swiftly, paws trampling the bracken, suddenly wishing for the cover of trees. Hurry, hurry. But for what?
He reached the banks of the Vapour Falls, saw the tempting sweep of the current, only a mouselength away from his paws. He wasn't stupid; he was well aware that one dip of his paw into the water and the sheer force that it moved with would rush him to his death. He thought about it. This ain't like you, bud, he thought to himself, but then again, he certainly didn't feel like himself.
Suddenly, he heard pawsteps from behind him. He didn't turn to look yet, his electric-blue eyes stayed fixed on the water. "Who's thar?" [/blockquote]

Who's thar? A sudden voice asked, as Iridescentsight trotted to the banks of Vapour Falls. The water rushed, and something clicked in her head. This was not safe, were she to accidently fall in or something. She wouldn't turn away, she rather liked the noise, and the smell of rain.
"Me." The marbled she-cat meowed a delayed reply, and she didn't want to be rude. She was actually in a good mood for no particular reason, so being rude was not going to happen. Not today, thanks.
If someone were to tick her off, then she'd probably act like that, but nothing could ruin her good mood - well not nothing - if someone tried to kill her maybe she'd be angry... Well, who wouldn't?
ooc|| Yay.

[fadedstar]Her legs were aching as they slipped over the ground, tense as they padded through the territory. It had been a tense couple of moons, tense couple of weeks for the leader to deal with. She had a missing deputy, which stressed the she-cat out more then it should. Letting out a slow, slightly unsteady breath, her fluffy tail swayed behind her long body as she crouched down outside a patch of bushes, the rustling coming from inside alerting her to the creature that had made its home. Too bad the leader was going to end its life in a couple of moments. Creeping forwards, the leader was light on her feet as she prepared for her to pounce. After a few tense moments, she pounced, landing just shy as the mouse skittered away.
"Damn mouse. I let you get away" She muttered to herself, shaking her head and continuing forwards, her tail tip twitching slightly behind her. Voice soon came to the leader's ear, making Fadedstar pause. She knew one of those voices. It was slightly familiar, though, it had a different sound to it. Ah. Of course. Kitewhistle. Just as she was going to announce her arrival, another came into site, making the leader pull back a moment before she approached the two of them, head held high, despite the fact that she was aching inside, and faced her two warriors. "Kitewhistle, Iridescentsight. A pleasure to see the two of you out and about" He murmured in a soft voice, sitting down and curling her tail around her paws.

kitewhistle.Kitewhistle turned, and not one, but two she-cats padded out from the tall grass -- one he vaugly recognized from around camp, but could not place the name of, and one that was instantly recognizeable to any CloudClanner with half a mouse's brain. Kitewhistle was surprised to see Fadedstar out here, but then again, even the leader needed a break sometimes. Besides, things were going fairly well for the Clans. Maybe the rain really would wash away all the bad things that had happened. Kitewhistle turned, forgetting the rush of water behind him and the dark thoughts that had just passed through his mind and curled his tail around his paws. "Why, hello, ladies," he said in his drawling speech. A dip of the head in Fadedstar's direction turned what would have been a demeaning comment into a passing form of greeting to the Clan leader. He cocked an eyebrow at the faint smell of mouse in the air. "Well, that be a shame, thar. But dun' worry, thar'll be plenty o' prey yet in the woods. Leaf-green's almost here." he smiled his crooked smile at the Clan leader.
Then he turned to Iridescentlight. He remembered the she-cat's pretty marbled coat; he noticed her often when he went out for morning patrol and passed her nest in the warrior's den. His mind was a bit too befuddled right now to remember if she'd ever been on morning patrol with him, though. "And ya, miss," he began, "I'm sorry 'ta say that I'm havin' some trouble placin' yar name t'yar pretty face."

"Iridescentsight, and thank you."The small she-cat mewed, with that small, sweet voice that she used all the time - or most of the time. She was confused to whether he was flirting or complimenting -but it didn't matter, she was always confused with that sort of stuff. So she'd just take it as a compliment - because there was a 999.9% chance that it was one. "Hello, Fadedstar." She dipped her head. She sat down, her tail curling over her white paws.

Midnightsky
His lithe form curved through the undergrowth as he loped through the forest. Heading in no particular direction, Midnightsky heard voices. His ears swivelled to the sound and he stopped. Pinpointing the noise, he turned direction and followed the voices. "Hello," He meowed, before sitting down and cleaning his paw.
Midnightsky shot a glance at Fadedstar. She had begun to tell him something in her den a few moons ago, but something had interrupted them. Since then, she had been avoiding him. "How is everyone?" He asked, indifference cutting through his meow. He wanted to talk to Fadedstar alone, but could see no way to at this moment.

[fadedstar]Her tail curled around her paws as she sat there, ears flicking up and down, listening to the male speak. Interesting. He had the same speech as the late Ghostlystar. Shaking her head, the leader turned her focus not on the past, but on the present, letting her pale gaze rest upon the tom. "Well, yes. But I haven't been feeling my best lately. I guess my aim is off" She said with a sigh, straightening up suddenly as a scent crossed her glades. Oh, StarClan. Not here. Not now. She didn't want to face him now. Lowering her eyes from Midnightsky's, her attention turned to Iridescentgaze. Her tail flicked behind her quickly, a bit nervously being in the presence of Midnightsky, but that was her only sign of unease. "Hello. How have you been?" She asked, voice soft.
Fadedstar's paws kneaded the ground as she felt the pressure on her shoulders, eyes drifting towards the black tom before she forced her eyes away. She needed to tell him that she wanted some time away from him, to not have the pressure of being tied to anyone. It wouldn't help much, considering she was still looking for Swampfox's return, but it would help just a little. Letting out a breath, her attention turned towards Kitewhistle. Kitewhistle, is there any way I might be able to ask your help with a few things? I'm hoping to have a couple of warriors take over a section of Swampfox's duties until he returns" The leader questioned, watching the younger cat.

kitewhistle.Seeing the tense air about his leader, and upon hearing her request, Kitewhistle decided to laugh. It was a howling, forest-shaking laughter that could have belonged to a serial killer, or at least a deranged psychopath. At least. He laughed, and then looked at his leader with a humorous glint in his eye. "Ha! D'ya really need t'ask?" he meowed, grinning. "O'course I'll help out. An'thin' for tha Clan, 'ts what I always say." His mood darkened a bit, though, as he remembered Swampfox. He hadn't known the tom too well -- why did it seem that he had missed out on so much in such a short amount of time -- but he had considered him a loyal deputy above all, and that was how to win Kitewhistle's respect. Loyalty above all. That's what mattered. Then again, with him just wandering off like that in the middle of the night, disappearing... maybe he wasn't as loyal as some thought. Kitewhistle wasn't the one to come to that conclusion.
"Well, well," he murmured, surveying the amount of CloudClanners who had appeared. Maybe the rain wouldn't have washed away his traces after all... no, he had never really thought of that. He was being stupid. "Quite a party we got 'ere, if I do say. Why don' we make ourselves us'ful an' bring back some prey?" Kitewhistle opened his jaw to taste the air, catching only a faint whiff of the mouse that Fadedstar had just lost. He snorted in disappointment and kept listening for any rustling that could be a stray rabbit, but didn't move from his spot. [/blockquote]

"I'll go with you..." Iridescentsight trailed off, standing up. She really needed something to do. If this was the only thing she'd do that was interesting for atleast, the week, then she wanted to do it, paws down. Really. She was that eager to leave camp for the second time today - she had come here, just to go somewhere. Well, it'd be worth it atleast. She had found something interesting in hunting for the clan, and such. She didn't have a reason. You know, not everything had a reason.

Midnightsky[/color]
Midnightsky's eyes caught Fadedstar's look, and he dropped his head. She was upset, he could tell. But she wouldn't talk to him, and he couldn't figure out why. "Well... I will hunt, and find some food... I guess..." He meowed to Kitewhistle, before shooting another glance, full of misery, at Fadedstar, then bounded off into the forest.
He disappeared into the undergrowth, miserably tracking for prey. That's all that mattered now. His mate didn't even want to talk to him. Most of his kin had died, and he had nothing left, it seemed. He shook his head and tracked again, this time finding a mouse. He quickly killed it, before burying it and searching again.

kitewhistle."We're a merry bunch, 'ren't we?" Kitewhistle muttered under his breath, casting Fadedstar a thoughtful look. He was a little worried about his leader. It seemed she was too proud or too troubled to let anyone see that something was wrong. Even he had trouble seeing it. Midnightsky, too, was acting strange, and it cast a somber mood over the group. Kitewhistle watched as Midnightsky slinked away, then rolled his thin but muscled shoulders. He scented a mouse off in the distance, but spotted a small rabbit much closer. He crept towards the unsuspecting creature and killed it swiftly, then buried it by the bank of the river.
He made his way over to Iridescentnight, the only one here not to be wrapped in their own problems, it seemed. "Pity the prey's so scrawny n'wadays. Coulda used s'more fresh-kill 'round th'Clan." he mewed conversationally. Midnightsky seemed to be still searching for prey, and Kitewhistle wondered when he'd return. "D'ya think we should go after 'im?" he whispered to the she-cat, flicking his tail towards where the older tomcat had disappeared into the grass. [/blockquote]
