[fadedstar]She knew what she had to do. Tail swaying slowly back and forth behind her, she trotted through the center of the camp, bounding onto the top of the Bird's Wing and calling out for a Clan meeting. Her tail twitched slightly as her eyes scanned the clearing. Honestly, she would miss the Clan. But, there were other important things to attend to. Her eyes closing for a moment, she thought over her choice. They probably wouldn't approve, but she needed to do this. The past few moons had been hard on her, adjusting to becoming leader, and then when she was used to it, her deputy had disappeared. Fadedstar's breath came out slowly, making her a bit uneasy with herself. Shaking her head, she waited patiently for the Clan to gather, her claws scraping against the Bird's Wing as her eyes scanned the clearing, landing on the black tom that exited the nursery, laughing quietly as he walked beside the form of Ravenkit. Her eyes softened slightly as she saw the two.
"You're so big now, Ravenkit. I won't be surprised if today's the day that Fadedstar makes you an apprentice" Dwarfnova said with a smile, sitting down outside the nursery, flicking his tail in front of the black kit as he tackled the warrior's tail. Even when the kit caught the tom's tail, clamping down with his teeth. He winced slightly, but didn't move over then twitching his tail slightly in the kit's mouth. Ravenkit pulled back, a curious expression on his face before he shook his head. "I don't know. Maybe. I hope so. I really want to get out of the nursery. Its getting really cramped" He said, stretching his paws out and sitting down beside the small warrior.
Shaking her head, she turned her attention towards the rest of the clearing, tail swaying slowly behind her as she watched the Clan appear. Well, now was as good a time as any to give both good news and bad. Her eyes were closed as she waited quietly for what was to come, lettting the words swirl around in her head. she didn't know what would happened after she left, but she was hoping Midnightsky would understand. Hoped that Ravenkit would know the right time to tell him. A breath escaped the leader's lips before she opened her mouth to speak. "I saw these words in front of StarClan, and of Swampfox's soul, where ever he may be, and hope that they approve of my choice of deputy" Her eyes focused on the tom sitting beside her son. "Dwarfnova will be the next Deputy of CloudClan"

Midnightsky
Midnightsky turned around in his nest, getting ready to settle down, when he heard Fadedstar call. Sighing, he stood up and exited the den, sitting down beside Dwarfnova. "Hey!" He greeted the tom. "I wonder what the meeting's about. Hey Ravenkit! Where's your sister, Cinderkit?" He asked the young kit. He looked around, but didn't spot the bouncy ball of gray fur. Shrugging his shoulders, he turned to the front.
When Fadedstar announced the new deputy, Midnightsky turned to him. "Congratulations!!" He cried, butting his shoulder with his head. "You're going to have fun being deputy." He meowed, no hint of jealousy in his voice. He was happy for the tom, but he was still worried, because Fadedstar's eyes seemed to look scared, a little.
Cinderkit
with a rush, cinderkit galloped from the nursey and skidded to a halt. Throwing her front paws out in front of her, she cried, "Wait!! Don't start without me!!" She trotted over to her brother and butted his flank. She sat down beside him and meowed loudly, "Mkay!! You can start now!!" She grinned and shook out her fur. "Hey Dwarfnova!! Congratulations on the deputyship!! It's going to be awesome!!!" She jumped up onto her paws and trotted around him. "Since you're deputy, you can take kits out, right? That means you can take me out on patrol!! Would you? PLEASE!!!??" She begged, looking him in the eyes, with an expression on her face that could melt hearts.

& BEARPAW.to the rhythm of a time bomb ticking away, and the blare of the sirens combing the streets. chased down like dogs we run from, your grasp until the sun comes up.-------------------------------It was all too overwhelming. He had lost, basically, all his family, and he didn't understand why. Bearpaw sat outside the apprentice den, despite not having a mentor anymore. Oh, that too. His mentor had suddenly... vanished. It was all quite odd. He wondered, now that he was sitting there thinking about everything, if other Clans suddenly had a massive number of missing cats. Golden eyes swept over the clearing, noticing cats were gathering below Fadedstar. As she yowled out, his ears flicked slightly. Dwarfnova was to be deputy? He sighed softly, and pushed himself to his paws, heading over to where other cats were gathering.
Deep down, he wondered what the meeting was going to be about. By Cinderkit's and Ravenkit's voices, they expected to become apprentices. This caused a small smile to creep over his mouth, and he blinked a few times. He remembered his apprentice ceremony, even if it was vaguely. His sister had been given the mentor of Fadedstar, but, since her disappearance, he didn't think Fadedstar had gotten another apprentice. Ears twitched as he thought of his family again, then he shook his head slightly. He wasn't going to think of it anymore.
Eyes went to Fadedstar, noticing how she was slightly uneasy. What was troubling their leader so?

periwinklepaw.Sad sad sad. Everyone was sad now. Fadedstar was sad. Periwinklepaw was sad. Her mom had disappeared and so had the rest of her family... most of them, anyway. She didn't have anyone to talk to. No one wanted to be friends with her now. Sad. She woke up in the cozy apprentice's den and for once didn't want to go anywhere, not even move a muscle, just stay there all warm and soft all day. But she heard Fadedstar's call and she pushed herself up. As she exited the den and made her way into the clearing, she recognized Bearpaw -- the lone brother who hadn't abandoned her yet -- and was about to run to him, but then she realized something. Bearpaw... didn't really like her, did he? He looked mad, or sad, or something, she couldn't tell. Her tail drooped. She really, really wanted someone to talk to. Really really.
So she padded over to Bearpaw. Not barelling into him, as she had usually done, but slowly, respectfully. "Hey, Bearpaw," she mewed quietly. "How are ya?" [/blockquote]

[fadedstar]His jaw dropped. What? Him? Deputy? But what about all the other fine warriors? He was still young, why would Fadedstar choose him for deputy? All those thoughts made their way through Dwarfnova's mind as he stepped up to touch nosed with the leader. Fadedstar smiled at him, then turned her attention towards the two kits that had been sitting beside her new deputy. Her gaze never went to Midnightsky. Just laid upon the two of them. They, along with Timekit, would be becoming apprentices. But there were a couple others that needed to be given mentors. Her eyes turned towards Bearpaw and Periwinklepaw. "Periwinklepaw and Bearpaw, you are both without mentors, therefore, you will be needing them. From this moment onward, Kitewhistle will mentor Bearpaw and Stripedfeather will mentor Periwinklepaw. " The leader called out, her tail flicking behind her. Now, was the hardest part for her. She let out a breath, then jumped down from the Bird's Wing.
"Will Timekit, Ravenkit, and Cinderkit please step forwards." She called out, pausing for a moment, then continuing on. "These three have reached their sixth moon. It is time for them to become apprentices. Ravenkit, from this moment on, you will be known as Ravenpaw. Midnightsky will mentor you. Timekit, from this moment on, you will be known as Timepaw. Dwarfnova will mentor you. And Cinderkit, from this moment on, you will be known as Cinderpaw. Iridescentgaze will be your mentor" With that, Fadedstar reached forwards, touching each kit on the forehead before stepping back and allowin their mentors to step forwards.
Both a deputyship and an apprentice? Boy, was he going to have fun. Dwarfnova stepped from where he had taken his place below the leader's perch, touching Timepaw on the nose. "We'll start your lessons tomorrow morning. Perhaps we'll be able to train with your siblings?" He said with a smile, then turned back as Fadedstar cleared her throat, having jumped back onto the Bird's wing. She seemed a bit uneasy again as she looked out over the Clan.
"The last thing I have to attend to is.." She paused, biting her lip. "Is my leaving" And that was it. That was all the leader was able to say before there was an uproar, especially from little Ravenpaw as he stared up at the leader.

Iridescentgaze gasped in shock, after stepping forwards, near Cinderpaw. Why would she leave? You know what, she didn't want to know, it was shocking as it was. Iridescentgaze's tail curled over her paws as she sat back down, her mouth whittling off into a frown. This was both confusing and hard to not be angry about - Dwarfnova had just been made a deputy, and now he was going to be a leader? Okay, life just got more confusing. Not like it was already confusing, but it kind of was, think about it a little, will you? The question is, why is she leaving? She thought. Really, why was she? Hmm... There could of been simple reasons, Iridescentsight just hadn't come up with them yet. Maybe she'd explain why, and then everyone would be happy. Right? Maybe, but then again, maybe not. Iridescentgaze's tail-tip twitched as she thought about it, and now, she was just plainly confused. She squared her shoulders, glancing up at the sky. She saw a few clouds that had made odd shapes, then they moved off, where she could no longer see them.

Instead of flowers like words that never mattered Close it off forget about the sadness*
A tiny black ball of fur exploded out of the nursery when she heard the voices of Dwarfnova and her only brother Ravenkit speaking about becoming apprentices. Apprentices? Timekit could barely contain her excitement. She bounded over to where the other cats were gathered, tripped, and somersaulted to her spot next to where Ravenkit was seated. She made it just in time to hear her mother say that Dwarfnova would be Deputy. But what about Swampfox? Her pale blue eyes gazed up at Fadedstar with a worried expression. She could tell her mother had been stressed with all the duties of being Leader topped off with the duties that Swampfox left her. It was a rare occasion that Timekit's mother even stopped by the nursery to see how they were doing.
The little black kit was so deep in thought that she barely noticed her name being announced. She snapped back into reality when she heard the 'paw' at the end of Timepaw. She was Timepaw now. Grinning hugely, the trotted over to where her new Deputy and mentor sat, and she touched her nose to his. "Okay, Dwarfnova, that sounds awesome!" Timepaw exclaimed and shifted weight from one paw to another to contain her excitement. It almost looked like she was dancing. But that dancing ended and her huge smile faded when she heard her mother's next words. Fadedstar was leaving. Her glowing pale blue eyes began glistening with tears as she now had trouble containing her sadness rather than her excitement. ooc; comments- first post with timey! characters- timepaw song- this is who we are by hawthorne heights template- copyright of Kee 2010. periwinklepaw.Bearpaw momentarily forgotten as she heard her name, Periwinklepaw looked up to be given a new mentor. Stripedfeather? "Sweet!" she cried, a smile breaking out on her face. She looked around for her new mentor, and gave a huff of disappointment when she couldn't see the senior warrior anywhere. Nothing ever worked out for her... no, she couldn't start thinking like that. What was the word for people who only saw the bad? Pessi... moth? She licked the fur on her chest lightly then turned to face the leadern again. Her flank brushed against something warm, and she squeaked a bit -- until she remembered it was just Bearpaw. "Oh," she mewed, trying desperately to strike up a conversation again. "You scared me, Bearpaw." She gave him a goofy smile he most certianly wouldn't appreciate, but it was all she knew how to do. [/blockquote] kitewhistle.[/font][/size] When he heard his name, Kitewhistle moved from where he was sittingover towards the two siblings. He'd never had any siblings; hell, he'd never had any parents as far as he remembered, so he didn't really remember ever playing like these two were. Or like the she-cat was trying to. His apprentice, the tom, didn't seem interested, or he just hadn't noticed. "Ho, Bearpaw. Y'ar training starts at dusk t'night. I'm guessing y'ar old mentor taught you the basics? 'Cause if that's not'th'case, then y'ar in fer a long night," he winked at the apprentice, but he meant every word of it.
Suddenly, Fadedstar dropped a moral bombshell that swept though camp. Kitewhistle whirled to face the leader, his face contorted in shock and anger. "What're ya talkin' 'bout, Fadedstar?! Ya can't just step down! 'Ts in the Warrior Code! Y've still got y'ar lives! What is this?!" he spat. Immediately ashamed by his sudden outburst, but still angry, he levelled his voice, but kept it loud enough for everyone in camp to hear. "Where d'ya expect t'go? Ya can't just disappear on us like that Corm'rantstar did, moons 'n moons ago. Y'expect someone ya just appointed t'lead us? Not that I doubt yar abilities, Dwarfnova," he corrected himself, "I just think 't all of this -- it's crazy." [/blockquote]

& BEARPAW.to the rhythm of a time bomb ticking away, and the blare of the sirens combing the streets. chased down like dogs we run from, your grasp until the sun comes up.-------------------------------With Periwinklepaw at his side, Bearpaw smiled faintly. Since she was his only family left, why not be nice? "I scared you?." His ears flicked nervously as he heard Fadedstar's words. She was leaving!? How could she leave?! Bearpaw heard Kitewhistle's words, and just nodded, still in shock that Fadedstar was leaving. But... why!?
"But you can't just leave, Fadedstar! We need you to lead the Clan," he finally called out, his ears tilted back against his skull. This wasn't fair! His claws unsheathed, and he dug them into the ground, grinding the soil in frustration. This wasn't at all fair.

Midnightsky[/font][/size]
Midnightsky watched silently as Fadedstar made announcements. He watched Ravenpaw run up to him. "Hey there, little guy!!" He lughed touching noses with him. "You remind me of how I was when I was younger." He stuck his tongue out at him teasingly before settling back down and listening with his ears perked.
She's leaving?? He shot his gaze back up at her, his eyes full of dismay. He kept his gaze on her, upset that she never mentioned this to him. He shuffled his paws and waited until she finished so he could talk to her.
Stripedfeather
Stripedfeather unfolded herself from her nest, a grin spreading across her face as she padded into the sunshine. She stretched and yawned, finding a place among the warriors. Settling herself in a bright spot of sunshine, she watched Fadedstar. "Dwarfnova!!" She called out, cheering on the new deputy. Then she heard her name being called. She was to be a mentor!! She stood up and looked around for Periwinklepaw. "you thought I wasn't here, didn't you?" She meowed, coming up behind the apprentice, with a teasing note in her voice. She touched noses with the young apprentice and grinned. "We'll go out right away." She promised, settling down by her apprentice.
"What?!?" came the cry of outrage when Stripedfeather heard Fadedstar's decision. "You can't just up and leave!! For Starclan's sake, you're our leader!! And what about Midnightsky?!? I don't know how you can even stand up there!!" She yowled, her voice hoarse.
Cinderpaw
Cinderpaw leaped up in happiness. "Iridescentgaze!! Where are you?" She called out. Finding the she-cat, she touched noses with her before meowing loudly, "When are we gonna go out?!?!? Can Ravenpaw come with us?!??" She trotted around her mentor in circles, grinning.
"B-B-But Fadedstar!! You can't leave!!" She cried. Cinderpaw dropped her nose onto her paws and stared miserably forward, before sighing. "It's not fair," She yowled, standing up, "You can't just up and leave us like this!! Doesn't the warrior code mean anything?!?"

[fadedstar] & [dwarfnova] Her eyes were closed and her head bowed slightly as she sat upon the Bird's Wing, listening to the sounds of her Clanmates. A tear slid down her cheek as she thought about leaving. How could she leave like this? She really didn't know. She just couldn't stay here, wondering when Swampfox would be back. A slow breath slipped through her lips, eyes opening. But before she could speak again, her newly named deputy's voice rang out. "I wish you luck, Fadedstar. I hope you find what your looking for. And we will welcome you back with open paws when you return" He said, voice strong as he started away from Timepaw, heading towards his leader, head held high and eyes bright as he watched his leader. Dwarfnova turned to face the clan, looking over the clanmembers"Why are we making a big deal out of this? Shouldn't we be encouraging our leader to find our lost deputy? Why give her grief when we all want to know what happened to our beloved Swampfox?" His lime green eyes lifted to look up at his leader.
"We should be showing our leader respect." He finished, tail flicking back and forth behind him. Fadedstar hopped down from her perch, coming to sit beside her deputy, pressing her nose against his shoulder, then lifted her head to look at her Clanmates. "Its true. I am going to search for our lost deputy. I expect for you to show Dwarfnova respect while I am away. And I will be proud," She turned her attention to the small black tom. "To call him by his name when I return. Dwarfstar, I hope you bring the same type of success that I have" She said quietly, then stood and started across to Ravenpaw, Timepaw, and Cinderpaw, reaching down to press her nose against their heads. She pulled back, then started across to the entrance, stopping just by Midnightsky. "I'm sorry our love didn't work as planned.. I hope you watch over the Clan for me, Midnightsky" She pressed her nose against his cheek, then continued on, pausing by the entrance. "Good luck, CloudClan" And with that, she slipped through the entrance.

Midnightsky
Midnightsky's gaze followed Fadedstar as she leaped off the rock and met him where he was. Midnightsky shook his head as she spoke to him. "I don't know what to say... But I will watch over Cinderpaw, Timepaw and Ravenpaw as if they were my own.. And I'll keep my eye on the clan for you.." He dropped his head and sighed, his heart breaking.
He didn't look up again until he heard her pass through the barrier. When he raised his gaze, it was steely, covering his emotions. He watched Dwarfnova, with an emotionless look on his face, and grunted in answer about Swampfox.[/color]
