Flarewind. - - - - - - - - - - - - The air seemed too thick, as Flarewind lay outside of the warrior's den, his gold-green eyes looking at Lilac Hill. It had been too long since Clearstar had stepped upon it, too long since they had a leader. Flarewind, he was supposed to step up and take charge, wasn't he? Ears flicked slightly, and he pushed himself up from the ground, shaking the dirt from his fur. They had gone all Leaf-bare without Clearstar, the calico looking deputy taking care of his Clan when he needed to. Whiskers twitched, as he stepped toward Lilac Hill, the place looming over him. Was he supposed to do this?
Eyes went to the sky, wondering if StarClan wanted him to do this. Frowning ever so slightly, Flarewind began to doubt himself. As a leader. Shaking his head quickly, he looked behind him, to see if anyone else was up and about. No one. Tilting his head, he was curious as to why no one else was up yet. Maybe it was also because the sun was barely above the horizon? Smiling faintly, he launched himself up onto Lilac Hill, tail flicking slowly. So, this was how it felt to be up here. Looking down upon the clearing below him, Flarewind inhaled deeply, taking in the smell of the morning. Finally he called out.
"All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather below Lilac Hill for a Clan meeting!"
Flarewind waited for SerenityClan to gather below him, his eyes closing, thinking about what he was going to say. He had to, if he were to be the new SerenityClan leader, go to the Moonstone sooner or later. That meant, after he returned, he would have to name a deputy. Ears flicked uneasily; he didn't know anyone who would be good enough for deputy. Perhaps StarClan would help him decide who would be good enough. Eyes opened once again, noticing Burnpaw step out of the apprentice den. His daughter had been made an apprentice, but was never given a mentor.
Burnpaw had a sleepy look upon her face, as she looked at Lilac Hill, half expecting to see Clearstar standing up there. Instead, she saw her father, and her ears flicked back slightly. What was going on? When his words hit her ears, she walked over, sitting down in front of Lilac Hill, suppressing a yawn. What was this going to be about? Was her father finally going to step up as leader, and tell SerenityClan that Clearstar wasn't going to be coming back? Burnpaw- - - - - - - - - - -

[musicdrift]She had just been dozing beside her mate when he got up, jolting the orange tabby up quickly, eyes flicking around as she prepared herself for the worst. Curious, she watched as Flarewind padded across the camp, bounding up on the Lilac Hill. So. He finally chose to do this. A small smile spread across her features as she watched her calico mate. It was good for him. Pride spread across her features as she pushed herself up, padding across the clearing. Though, it wasn't customary to do such a thing, Musicdrift pushed herself off with her hindpaws, landing behind the deputy. She brushed her tail over his back, giving him a smile of encouragement. Her expression was soft as she sat down behind the tom, tail just brushing his back every now and then as her eyes shifted around the clearing. It wouldn't be long until the Clan arrived, wondering why Flarewind was up here, and not Clearstar. A sad smile crossed her features before she pushed it away, leaning in towards her mate's ear.
"I'm right here if you need me. I have faith in you, Flarewind" Musicdrift mewed gently, giving him a lick over the ears as her gaze shifted onto the apprentice's den. She watched as Burnpaw pushed her way out followed by the form of her daughter's twin sister. Ghostpaw's gaze flicked around uneasily before she padded after her sister, bright orange eyes moving up to stare at her parents for a moment. But she remained quiet. Musicdrift smiled softly, sitting back again and letting her eyes close for a moment, wishing the best for her mate.
Ghostpaw's brows were furrowed as she followed Burnpaw out, tail flicking behind her as her eyes flicked towards her twin sister. She followed the form of the she-cat, sitting down beside her and opening her mouth to speak. "What are Mum and Dad doing up there?" She asked in a quiet voice, though it wasn't directed at her sister. More of, it was just a general question. Biting her lip, Ghostpaw let her tail curl around her paws, her bright gaze shifting around the camp clearing.

He who makes a beast out of himself, gets rid of the pain of being a man*
At Flarewind's call, Tempestpaw was out of the nursery in a heartbeat. It had been about a week that he had his apprentice name, but since Clearstar had been missing, he still didn't have a mentor, nor had he started training. He was growing irritated, still locked in camp all the time. At least the apprentice's den was larger and less stuffy. Glowing yellowish eyes peered around camp for the others and he spotted them near the hill already. His mother was perched on top of the hill with his father. Tempestpaw's father? Why was he calling another clan meeting? Maybe, Flarewind would become the leader of SerenityClan and Tempestpaw would be the son of a leader! Excitement flooded the little tom's body but he hid it with worry for Clearstar.
Sighing softly, he trotted up to where his sisters were sitting below the Lilac Hill. He tried to look worried but he wanted his mentor so badly and to start training immediately. He wanted to be just as strong as the rogue he'd met the other day. But, Tempestpaw wasn't allowed to mention the rogue. He reminded himself that a lot. But, anyway, he sat down next to Ghostpaw and placed his tail over his paws, like she had. "I think Dad is going to take the position of Leader," he meowed, his green-yellow eyes on his father. They were filled with admiration for his father's decision. Tempestpaw wanted to be just like him.
Nowadays Terrapinshell could do whatever she wanted. Flarewind had made her a warrior about a week ago, so she could go hunting, patrolling, or just a stroll whenever she wanted to. She had just skipped into camp when he called the Clan to a meeting. Like Tempestpaw, Terrapinshell had a lot of admiration for her former mentor and she wanted to grow up to be just as strong as him. She giggled at the thought of her mentor being a leader. It was magnificent! Avoiding the warrior's den, where her brothers probably were napping, she waddled over to where the kits of Flarewind were beginning to gather. She plopped down a little ways away from them and began grooming her bristly tabby coat. It was covered in twigs and leaves from her adventures in the forest. She had been pretending to be a loner, newly accepted into SerenityClan and having some trouble fitting in, which was funny because she had trouble fitting in every day. Sighing softly, Terrapinshell gazed around the camp absent minded, and she waited for the meeting to begin.

lavenderlace.Lavenderlace's small paws were caked in dirt and the thick scent of herbs as she pushed her way into the clearing. Flarewind. She didn't know when she would get used to the constant switching of leaders, really. Why was all this happening? StarClan had told her nothing, but everything seemed to be changing. Her mind toyed with the idea of going with Flarewind to the Moonshard, if only to chase down StarClan when they wouldn't come to her. She then realized how stupid an idea that was, and promptly focused on the meating. [/blockquote] ooc: forgive the crappiness of this post. I've got no muse for Lavvie right now. .__.

Snowflake
Aces High
Snowflake trotted into the camp, fresh-kill in her jaws. She stopped when she scented something off. Dropping her prey, she sniffed the air. Sure of the scent, she picked up her prey and trotted to the fresh-kill pile. She dropped off her prey, then padded over to Tempestpaw. "Hey Tempestpaw, you wouldn't have happened to see a cat, with a scar on his chest like mine, and looks a little like me?" She asked him, concern in her voice.
Shane
His paws shuffled as he sat in the shadows, watching the young cat. He noticed the white she-cat standing with him and scoffed. He moved over to the shadows near them, and hissed. "Looking for me, are you?" He hissed at them. He was well-hidden, in a strong-scented bush, that masked his scent. Only his eyes were visible.
Snowflake leaped. "Shane!!" She hissed. "I thought I told you never to come back here!! You touch a hair on Tempestpaw's pelt, Libertykit's pelt, or any of my clan members and I will personally do to you what I did to our mother. So get lost." She spat.
Shane shook his head. "You underestimate me, Snowy. I'm nothing like Chaosfire. I'm stronger." He hissed at her. "And I'll be back." His voice melted into the shadows, and all that was left was a glimmer of his eyes until they disappeared.
Snowflake hissed. "And I'll be waiting." She watched his eyes melt away before turning to Tempestpaw. "You make sure you get good battle training soon, in case Shane tries to come back for us. If I know him, he's not done with us."

He who makes a beast out of himself, gets rid of the pain of being a man*
Golden-green eyes watched the snow white she-cat approach him. He could sense the concern in her voice and her gaze. From Tempestpaw's brief meeting with the rogue named Shane, he had grown to know that Snowflake and the rogue were related somehow, for they had the same scar on their chests. So, when Snowflake asked him if he had seen Shane around camp, the answer was a yes. The calico looking tom didn't have time to answer her, for Shane's eyes appeared from the brambles surrounding the clearing. A shiver ran down the small tom's spine but he held his ground. He winced slightly, hearing Snowflake protecting him. That hurt his pride a little, but he didn't say anything, for the fear of Shane was stronger than humiliation. He knew that the rogue was strong. And, so did he, and that was worse.
Tempestpaw shivered again. The rogue's eerie voice faded away from his little ears as he disappeared back into the shadows. He'd be back? For some odd reason, Tempestpaw couldn't wait until that rogue came back, so he could show him that he was just as good a fighter as a rogue. But, there was a slight hint of fear in the thought that he pushed away. The golden-green eyes met the white she-cat's. "Don't worry. I'll grow to be stronger than him and protect the Clan. He'll regret ever coming back," Tempestpaw said, soaking up the pride and bravery he felt in his gut. ooc; comments- lalala characters- tempestpaw song- bat country by avenged sevenfold template- copyright of Kee 2010. Flarewind. you're not alone, there is more to this i know. you will make it out, you will live to tell. Smiling faintly at Musicdrift as she landed behind him, Flarewind flicked his ears slightly. Eyes still were focused upon the gathering cats below him, and he shuffled his paws slightly. "I know you're always with me, love." Eyes closed, breathing in deeply, thinking of what he was going to say. He could hear his children chattering below, and this soothed him slightly. They would be getting mentors soon. Not today, no, he would wait for that, but soon enough. Finally, he opened his eyes.
"I know that it has been quite some time since Clearstar has stepped upon Lilac Hill and called us for meetings. I realize that it has been quite some time since we had any contact with her. However, because of her absence, this Clan had been left leaderless." He paused, thinking, his mind trying to wrap around the train of thought he had going, "So, it is time for me to step up and become leader of SerenityClan. I will travel to the Moonstone tonight, to receive my lives. Ghostpaw and Terrapinshell will be the ones accompanying me there. All ceremonies will be held off until I return, and a new deputy will be named in due time. Until I return from the Moonstone, Musicdrift will watch camp and make sure everything goes smoothly."
He turned to his mate, flicking his ears slightly, his eyes worried. "I do hope you're ready for that," he smiled faintly at her, then turned back to the Clan. "That is all I have to say. Terrapinshell and Ghostpaw, please wait here so I can speak with you." The calico-look alike jumped down from Lilac Hill, and walked over to where Lavendarlace was standing. "Its about time you get a new apprentice, isn't it, Lavendarlace?" Flarewind asked the medicine cat, and flicked his tail slowly behind him. Eyes still held how uncertain he was about becoming leader, and he kneaded his paws slightly.
Burnpaw had kept staring at Lilac Hill even after her father had jumped down. Ghostpaw was going to the Moonstone with their father? Blue eyes turned to look at her twin sister, and her whiskers twitched slightly. Ghostpaw?! "Well congrats, sis! You get to go with Dad to the Moonstone!" She masked how jealous she was, but, it was only fair that Ghostpaw got to go. Even if Burnpaw was daddy's little girl. The black and white she-cat let a small smile cross her mouth, and she pushed herself up, moving past her sister, and Tempestpaw, heading to the apprentice den.
Sure, Burnpaw was a bit sad that she didn't get to go, but there were Gatherings to go to as well, right? Suddenly, Burnpaw ran into the wall next to the apprentice den's opening, and she stood there, dazed for a few seconds. She had been watching where she was going.. so why had she run into a wall? Her pretty pale blue eyes blinked, and she shook her head, looking behind her to see if anyone had noticed.
Shrugging, she slinked into the apprentice den, plopping herself down in her nest and sighing softly. .Burnpawstop and stare, i think i'm moving but i go no where. yeah, i know that everyone gets scared, but i become what i can't be.
