rimuwood One step after the other. That was all he needed to focus on. The light brown tabby tom trudged back into the territory that was once his, his head and tail hanging low in shame. As he entered, all of the scents flooded back to him. The mice, the mud, the watery scent of CloudClan cats. This was where he belonged. Not BrightClan. Not even with Hopesong. It had always been CloudClan. His Clan was far more important than anything else. He could see that now.
When his kits had been born, Rimuwood had been eager to join his mate. But even with Grainstar's acceptance, life had proved difficult. The cats had looked at him with mistrust. The tabby knew that he would never be accepted into their Clan. But it had taken a while to say goodbye to his kits. He knew that one day, they would be accepted as full warriors of BrightClan. But if he was there, no cat would ever trust them. Maybe this way, the BrightClan warriors could forget that his kits were half Clan.
It felt good to be back on CloudClan territory. Though relaxed, there was still one question troubling his mind. Will CloudClan accept me back?

[dwarfnova]It had been a day since Fadedstar had left, and with it, came the choices. Personally, the little black tom didn't think we was ready to be leader. But Fadedstar has insisted on him taking the position. Letting out a breath, Dwarfnova's tail flicked back and forth behind him as he slipped forwards, pausing as he came to a scent. Somewhat familiar, and yet not. BrightClan mixed with CloudClan. Raising an eyebrow, he slipped forwards, frownin slightly as he came upon a male. Of course, he was bigger then the recent appointed leader. Most were, anyways, but it didn't matter. His eyes narrowed slightly as he slipped in front of the tom, blocking his path.
"Pardon me, but what might you be doing on..." Dwarfnova's eyes widened slightly as he recognized the cat. "My StarClan, Rimuwood?" His voice was deadpan and quiet as his gaze flicked over the tom. And as he looked him over, and the male's scent wrapped around him, he realized that the scent was familiar. The CloudClan scent was there. And the facial features.. Dwarfnova hadn't seen him in moons, ever since he heard about the cross-clan relationship between him and a BrightClan she-cat. Looks like his first act as leader was about to take place.

rimuwood The brown tabby had only taken a few more steps before he heard rustling. Rimuwood paused, his front paw hovering an inch from the ground as he froze. Carefully, he swivelled his ears in the direction, wondering if some cat was going to jump out and attack him. He wanted to yell or to scream that he was CloudClan; that he wasn't a threat. All he wanted to do was come home. Though tense, the tom began to relax as the rustling became more pronounced. Nothing would sneak up on him that obviously. Despite that, Rimuwood took a hesitant step backward as a small black tom appeared in from of him, the confidence he had garnered from returning now fading. Luckily he recognized the warrior.
"Dwarfnova!" he exclaimed happily, flicking his tail back and forth. The icyness clogging his veins melted as the warrior recognized him. It was almost like he was home again. "I came back. I shouldn't have left. I needed to be there for my kits, but... I need CloudClan more," he offered by way of explination. Dwarfnova's CloudClan scent washed over him, reassuring him. No matter how hard he had tried as a warrior of BrightClan, Rimuwood had never been able to see his former Clan as a rival one.
"Fadedstar... will she take me back?"

[dwarfnova]The tom paused at the note in the other male's voice. The fact that he was choosing his Clan over his kits. That took a lot. And then his thoughts turned towards Fadedstar, and a sadness seeped into him before he masked it, looking up to meet his eyes. His tail flicked back and forth slightly, as his paws shuffled on the ground, waiting for the right moment to speak. The new leader lowered his head slightly, ears perked up as he looked at the tom. "I would gladly welcome you back into the Clan, Rimuwood" He murmured, then raised his head up, standing tall in front of the larger male. "Fadedstar has gone on a journey to find our lost deputy. She has named me leader," Dwarfnova's eyes sparked slightly as he looked up at the male.
"It will be good to have you back in the Clan." The black male said, ears flicking slightly as he spoke. His tail swaying behind him, he stepped back, angling his head towards the direction camp was in. "I'm heading back now. Why don't you come with me?"

rimuwood Excitement, mixed in with relief, was pulsing from the tip of his tail and back up to his bright eyes. The tom's vision was clouded by a haze of familiarity. The territory, the prey, the cats, the scent. He stood up straighter as Dwarfnova said that he would gladly welcome Rimuwood back. It felt good to be wanted instead of tolerated. In BrightClan, he had simply been an object to look after her. Here, he was valued. But the smile vanished from Rimuwood's face upon hearing the black tom's next words. Looking down at Dwarfnova, Rimuwood's green eyes widened. "She can't be gone!" he exclaimed, fighting to keep his expression stoic. He was sure that his eyes were wide with astonishment. "She has a Clan to look after..."
After taking a few moments to process the thought that Dwarfnova was now leader, Rimuwood bent down and licked the tom's shoulder in respect. "You're the best choice for it, though. Well, from what I thought before... I guess I can't make that call now," he said, the admission that he knew nothing about his Clan now stinging.
"Thanks..." sighed the tom. "It'll be good to be back, I..." he trailed off, swallowed, and then composed him. Shuffling his paws on the ground, Rimuwood ducked for a second and then looked back up. "Sure, I'll come back to camp. Thanks, Dwarfnova." Hopefully the brown tabby could remember his way around the territory and back to camp. He didn't want to be totally dependant on the new leader.
